Singer-songwriter Cat Power has just shared her latest single “Woman,” and it features the dreamy vocals of Coney Island Queen Lana Del Rey.
The single is the first offering from Cat Power’s upcoming album, Wanderer. It’s a mid-tempo Americana-inflected rock tune that effortlessly melds gritty melody with Del Rey’s delicate pipes.
“Thank you to Lana Del Rey for lending your voice to a song so important to me,” Cat Power wrote on an Instagram post. “‘Woman’ was the final song I recorded for my upcoming record, Wanderer, and the first full song I wanted to share with you.”
The “Sea of Love” singer also uploaded the track’s accompanying visual, which features Cat Power and her band performing the laid-back track in a range of settings. One moment they’re jamming in an empty car park and in another they’re up in the mountains. It’s a shame Del Rey didn’t make a cameo in the clip.
