Bright Eyes recruit Flea for new song, “Forced Convalescence”

Another comeback tune from Conor Oberst and co.

Indie rock band Bright Eyes have released a new song, “Forced Convalescence.”

On the hazy track, which features the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea on bass, frontman Conor Oberst laments on the state of the world. “In the dark, at a distance / I see everything at once, feel the wind / Through the window and I’m overcome with love / Inter-dimensional, no obstacles, mountains and dust,” he croons.

“Forced Convalescence” is the second single from Bright Eyes’ forthcoming as-yet-untitled album, following “Persona Non Grata.” Their last album, The People’s Key, arrived in 2011.
