Bombay Bicycle Club have released a video for “Everything Else Has Gone Wrong,” the title track of their first album in six years.

The accompanying video opens on frontman Jack Steadman on the ground as he gets beaten up and robbed by two hooded assailants. Paramedics soon arrive at the scene and pronounce him dead, handing him off to the morgue for burial. But at the last moment, he’s dug up by his bandmates and pulled to safety.

“The irony is that the song is about not wanting to write lyrics, but it has lyrics I’m really proud of,” Steadman said in a press release. “And after that, we realized a lot of the other songs had that theme, of music as a cathartic refuge.”

Everything Else Has Gone Wrong will also feature the previously released track, “Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You).” The record is due out January 17, 2020 via Caroline International/Island Records.
