    More pop, less punk.

Pop-punk giants Blink-182 have released “Darkside,” the latest single from their upcoming album, Nine.

On an emotional level, “Darkside” expresses the same angsty love Blink have explored throughout their career. Sonically, the track falls under the pop half of the genre Blink-182 fostered alongside Green Day and bands of the same brood.

Set to arrive on September 20, Nine clocks in as the band’s eighth studio album—or ninth, if you include the Buddha demo, as the band prefer. The 15-track effort will also include previously released track “Happy Days.”

Nine. This is our ninth album, as decided by me and Travis,” bassist Mark Hoppus explained on Reddit. “Nine is also the number of universal love. And the number of Uranus. Remember to like and smash that subscribe button, or whatever it is the kids say now.”
