Beach House drop video for new track, “Dark Spring”

Shoegaze and dream pop come together in the band’s new tune, which finds a perfect partner in a moody, black-and-white clip.

Beach House yesterday unveiled the video for “Dark Spring,” the third single off the dream pop duo’s upcoming album, 7.

The visual’s a gorgeous, emotive black-and-white montage of scenes that don’t make sense individually but come together as one haunting whole before ending, literally, in ?. Victoria Legrand’s reverb-drenched vocals are as gauzy as ever, and Alex Scally revs up the song with guitar riffs that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Slowdive record.

Slated to drop on May 11, 7—as its name suggests—is the Baltimore band’s seventh studio album. Besides “Dark Spring,” Beach House have already released “Lemon Glow” and “Dive” earlier this year, also off the record.
