Beabadoobee announces debut album with “Care”

Sweet grungy alt-pop.

Beabadoobee has announced her debut album with the release of its first single “Care.”

“I don’t want your sympathy / Stop saying you give a shit / Cuz you don’t really care,” the British singer-songwriter sings over an infectious concoction of grungy alt-pop. In a statement, Beabadoobee—real name Bea Kristi—described the song’s catharsis as “end of ’90s movie vibes, like you’re driving down a highway.”

“Care” is the first preview of Beabadoobee’s long-awaited debut album Fake it Flowers, which follows three EPs: 2019’s Space Cadet and Loveworm plus 2018’s Patched Up.

There’s no confirmed release date for Fake it Flowers just yet. While you wait for more details, watch the video for “Care,” which Beabadoobee shot with filmmakers bedroom while under lockdown:
