Axl Rose releases “Rock the Rock,” his first new track in a decade

The GN’R frontman pops up in a ‘New Looney Tunes’ episode to sing the track.

In December, we got wind of a new Axl Rose song that appeared on an episode of New Looney Tunes. The track, titled “Rock the Rock,” has now been officially released.

In the video for the track, a cartoonized Rose teams up with Bugs Bunny and co to destroy an asteroid hurtling towards Earth. The crew decide to unleash Rose’s piercing vocals and a chugging guitar riff to destroy the approaching asteroid.

The New Looney Tunes episode on which this song appears, “Armageddon Outta Here, Part Two,” had actually aired late last year, but the singer’s involvement was only recently confirmed by the network, Boomerang.

“Rock the Rock” is Rose’s first song since Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy, which was released in November 2008. Blabbermouth notes that Rose did not write “Rock the Rock,” and it’s unclear whether other GN’R members had a hand in recording the track.
