Arcade Fire share bizarre visual for “Chemistry”

It’s really, really weird.

Arcade Fire have just released the music video for their new single, “Chemistry,” that’s taken from their latest studio LP, Everything Now—and it’s a strange one.

Featuring peculiar animal-human hybrids, the video stars in its leading role a dog who works as a waiter at a wedding reception. He soon falls for the cat bride and the pair run away together as they get chased by her ferocious shark husband. The couple blast off to space and eventually find themselves in a street party in New Orleans, which ends things off on a happy note. Nothing really makes much sense.

The clip was helmed by director Ray Tintori, whose surreal filmography includes MGMT’s “Kids” and The Killers’ “Spaceman.” According to Arcade Fire’s founding member Win Butler, the Canadian indie rockers have been long-time fans of Tintori’s works.
