Angel Olsen shares heavenly new LP, ‘All Mirrors’

Cinematic strings all around.

Last Friday, Angel Olsen dropped her highly anticipated fourth studio album, All Mirrors.

The 11-track album is a grandiose and lavish affair, from the cinematic strings of opener “Lark” to the saccharine piano chords and swelling violins that close the LP on “Chance.” On highlight and title track “All Mirrors,” Olsen croons over stirring cellos and haunting bass synths: “Standin’, facin’, all mirrors are erasin’ / Losin’ beauty, at least at times it knew me.”

In a press release, Olsen discussed the making of the album: “In every way, from the making of it, to the words, to how I feel moving forward, this record is about owning up to your darkest side, finding the capacity for new love and trusting change even when you feel like a stranger.”
