Amyl and the Sniffers’ rip-roaring debut album is out now

A sweaty mix of punk, hardcore and glam rock.

After dropping two no-nonsense EPs in 2016 and 2017, Aussie punks Amyl and the Sniffers have finally unleashed their self-titled debut album, which was recorded in Sheffield, England with producer Ross Orton.

Punk, hardcore, glam rock and metal influences collide in these 11 electrifying tracks, including singles “Monsoon Rock” and “Got You.” Though there’s plenty of sweat and attitude on this LP, it’s also a portrait of a more mature Amyl and the Sniffers, guitarist Declan Martens told Guitar.com.

“When we first started, we were pretty much just making any noise that we could make… We came across as four different musicians, just making what came to mind first,” he said. “I think as we’ve improved as musicians, and started to take it a lot more seriously. We now have different ideas about what we want to sound like and stuff.”
