Albert Hammond Jr has stepped up his visual aesthetic with a hazy ’90s-inspired video for “Fast Times.”
The clip features footage cut from a single sold-out show at Los Angeles’ historic Fonda Theatre. Jerky camera angles, hard zooms and washed-out colors fill the music video, channeling the vibe of a bygone era—one that The Strokes had breathed fresh life into.
Bringing the indie movement of the ’90s into the 21st century is something of a mission for New York rockers. “Fast Times” is a prime example of that attempted crossover, and the footage of the audience hammers home just how much Hammond’s fanbase craves that sound.
