Watch The Weeknd’s outlandish video for “Save Your Tears”

The latest addition to the ‘After Hours’ cinematic universe.

The Weeknd has dropped an outlandish video for “Save Your Tears,” the latest cut off his fourth studio album After Hours to receive a visual treatment.

The clip depicts the R&B singer, his face dramatically altered by facial reconstruction surgery, performing to a dim banquet hall full of masked figures, who do not react to his many antics. It’s only after his literal parting shot—where he pretends to shoot himself in the head—that his mysterious audience gives a round of rousing applause.

This latest visual gives context to the star’s curious appearance at the American Music Awards 2020, where he performed with bandages obscuring his face. It also continues to flesh out the narrative established by his previous After Hours videos, including those for “Too Late,” “Snowchild,” “Until I Bleed Out,” “Blinding Lights,” “Heartless” and the After Hours short film.

More recently, he featured on a remix of Maluma’s “Hawái,” in addition to recruiting Spanish pop star Rosalía for a remix of his own hit “Blinding Lights.”
