Twenty-one-year-old Jorja Smith’s finally getting the limelight she deserves. The English R&B crooner just released her highly anticipated debut album, Lost & Found, last week, and she’s graced NPR’s Tiny Desk series to perform three tracks from the record.
Smith put on an upbeat, jazzy remake of her songs “On My Mind” and “Teenage Fantasy” before slowing things down with a stripped-down rendition of her heartbreaking ballad, “Blue Lights.” The performance was short, but the Walsall native still managed to show off her impressive and dreamy pipes.
“We’ve just finished a long tour. And this is our last stop, so I’m very happy to be here,” she said.
