IAMDDB has kicked off her year with an arresting new song, “Wa’hum.”
The British singer shows off her rapping skills on the Rndm-produced track, steering away from the R&B side of her self-described “urban jazz” sound. “We don’t beg friend / Never catch me rapping for no bitch arse n***a / No fake arse bitch that only wanna be Black cuz it’s cool,” she spits.
“Wa’hum” is the follow-up to the three songs she dropped last year—“End of the World,” “Quarantine” and “God’s Work”—after a busy 2019 that saw the release of a live album and the projects Swervvvvv.5 and Kare Package.
In the “Wa’hum” video, co-directed by IAMDDB and Justin Campos, the artist leads a balaclava-clad, baseball-bat toting girl squad in the interrogation of a hapless victim. Watch it below:
