Ty Dolla $ign shares video for “By Yourself” starring Tiffany Haddish

Featuring Bryson Tiller and Jhené Aiko plus production by Mustard.

Comedian Tiffany Haddish stars in Ty Dolla $ign’s new video for “By Yourself,” which features Bryson Tiller, Jhené Aiko and production by Mustard.

The track was released as part of Ty’s 2020 album, Featuring Ty Dolla $ign, and originally only included a guest verse from Aiko. Tiller joined the track in an official remix last month.

In the Ty- and Alex Bittan-directed video, Haddish is fed up with her boyfriend, a mystery man who only thinks about himself. “Every day, you. Weekdays, you. Weekends, you. Even on my birthday, it’s all about you. Feels like I’m in a relationship with myself!” she says in an exasperated voicemail, which also serves as a new intro to the track.

After ditching her man, Haddish embraces her freedom and dances in front of a convertible with Ty as he croons the chorus: “You ain’t afraid to be by yourself / You don’t need a man, you do it by yourself.” Aiko and Tiller also appear in the clip, giving off equally carefree energy.

“By Yourself” is the latest Featuring Ty Dolla $ign cut to get a remix, following “Spicy,” which gained new verses from J Balvin, YG and Tyga earlier this year. Also on the album were the tracks “Nothing Like Your Exes” and “Expensive” featuring Nicki Minaj.
