Tinashe, Buddy celebrate summer on new anthem “Pasadena”

They’ve teamed up for the second time.

Tinashe has reunited with Compton rapper Buddy on the brand-new single, “Pasadena.”

On the track, the two artists celebrate Californian summers on top of an upbeat production courtesy of producer Oliver Malcolm. “The summer’s comin’ ’round the corner / And now I’m feelin’ like I don’t even know ya / I’m never leaving California / Now more than ever life is all what you make it,” Tinashe sings.

Buddy follows with a fiery verse, touching on travel, weed and sex. The Compton rapper had previously teamed up with Tinashe on the track “Glitch,” which they released in September last year.

“Pasadena” is the lead single from Tinashe’s upcoming fifth studio album, 333. The record will follow her 2019 release Songs for You, which included tracks like “Die a Little Bit,” “Cash Race” and “Touch & Go.”

Tinashe also dropped a Christmas EP called Comfort and Joy last November. This year, the singer also released songs in collaboration with TOKiMONSTA, Shift K3y and Cheat Codes.

On the other hand, Buddy’s most recent release was his August single “Ain’t Sweet,” which enlisted Philadelphia MC Matt Ox. Last July, he also released a music video for “Black 2,” which paid homage to Malcolm X.
