The Weeknd has released two new songs, “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights.”

On the atmospheric “Heartless,” the singer reflects on a toxic past relationship that has made him “Heartless.” “Cause I’m heartless / And I’m back to my ways ’cause I’m heartless / All this money and this pain got me heartless / Low life for life ’cause I’m heartless,” he sings on the chorus over the pulsating Metro Boomin-produced beat.

Meanwhile, “Blinding Lights” is an ’80s synth pop-inspired track song that recalls his 2016 album, Starboy. “I said, ooh, I’m blinded by the lights / No, I can’t sleep until I feel your touch / I said, ooh, I’m drowning in the night / Oh, when I’m like this, you’re the one I trust,” he croons.

“Tonight we start a new brain-melting, psychotic chapter! Let’s go!” he posted on Instagram after releasing the tracks.

Both “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights” are expected to appear on The Weeknd’s forthcoming LP, the follow-up to his 2018 EP, My Dear Melancholy. Earlier this year, he teamed up with SZA and Travis Scott for “Power is Power.” Listen to his new songs below:
