Why y’all gagging? She bring it to you every video. Teyana Taylor is serving face, serving body and serving a Cinderella story in her new self-directed visual, “WTP.”
The fierce eight-minute clip, which pays tribute to ballroom culture and the classic documentary Paris is Burning, follows Taylor as a lowly member of “House of Petunia” who isn’t allowed to perform at an upcoming ball. But with the help of her “fairy c**t motha,” the singer-dancer is transported to the ball in a sickening outfit and finally gets the chance to “work her pussy.” The video also features cameos by Lena Waithe and Big Freedia.
Taylor’s love for the underground LGBT subculture extends beyond the video—”WTP” samples “Work This Pussy” by Ellis D, a staple of ballroom music. The song also features a spoken outro taken from Paris is Burning, by the late ballroom icon, Octavia St Laurent.
“Everybody that knows me knows that I live for [ballroom culture]. I’ve been in that scene since I was a 15-year-old,” Taylor told Billboard. “They have been sneaking me into the balls. I have been honorary in their house. It began at a young age. So, I have always appreciated the culture. I am really just a gay boy in a woman’s body, for sure.”
“WTP” is the latest track from KTSE to receive the video treatment. Watch the gag-worthy clip below:
