Teyana Taylor finally releases the studio version of “We Got Love”

She first debuted it on ‘Saturday Night Live’ last year.

Teyana Taylor has officially released her long-awaited song“We Got Love,” which she first performed on Saturday Night Live with Kanye West last year.

On the uplifting track, which samples The Younghearts’ 1974 song “We’ve Got Love (You Better Believe it),” the singer celebrates her marriage to basketballer Iman Shumpert. “We gon’ break the stigma up / Huxtables turned to Obamas / It ain’t about where you been / Where you from, what you got, it’s all about love,” Taylor sings.

“I’ve always felt this was such a special record and wanted it to have the right moment,” Taylor said in a press statement. The track was supposed to appear on her sophomore album, KTSE, but was cut due to sample clearance issues, according to Rolling Stone.

“We Got Love” is expected to appear on Taylor’s forthcoming LP, The Album, alongside the Kehlani-assisted “Morning” and “How You Want it?,” featuring King Combs. The record is due out early next year, according to the FADER.
