Teyana Taylor has released videos for two new singles, “Bare Wit Me” and “Made it.”
In the dark clip for “Bare Wit Me,” the singer stars opposite her husband Iman Shumpert in a fictional gangster movie titled Shoot it Up. Taylor plays Greyla Greathouse, a mobster who takes revenge on her lover, and is later interrogated by detectives. During a dance break, Taylor also pays tribute to Michael and Janet Jackson.
On the other hand, the visual for “Made it” is a tribute to students who’ve had their graduation ceremonies due to the coronavirus pandemic. “Unfortunately, this pandemic has stopped us from physically gathering and celebrating all the hard work you’ve put in through the years,” Taylor wrote on Instagram. “But this pandemic can’t stop your spirit, it can’t dim your light, and it can’t take your degree away from you.”
Both songs are expected to be featured on Taylor’s forthcoming third studio album, simply titled The Album. Taylor announced the record and unveiled its cover art earlier this month on Instagram. Back in March, Taylor released a remix of “We Got Love,” featuring Lauryn Hill.
