SZA returns to her high school to perform

The R&B singer also tells students to never stop daydreaming.

It’s not every day you get an R&B powerhouse like SZA to walk down your school hallways. But on Monday (June 4), the kids at Columbia High School, New Jersey, were treated to a special appearance by the singer herself as she returned to her alma mater to get inducted to her school’s hall of fame.

The assembly hall erupted into cheers when SZA took to the podium to make her motivational acceptance speech. “You find the details and the inner workings of yourself and figure out what you actually want to do… daydreaming is actually where this whole thing starts,” she said, which prompted a rousing applause from the crowd.

The CTRL singer then ended things off with a performance of her Grammy-nominated song, “Weekend.”
