Steve Lacy drops solo debut album, ‘Apollo XXI’

A groovy 12-track release from the Internet guitarist.

Last Friday, Steve Lacy released his much-anticipated debut album, Apollo XXI.

The 12-track record includes previously released singles “N Side” and “Playground,” as well as album closer, “Outro Freestyle.” The funk-inspired LP’s only feature is from Los Angeles-based band DAISY, who assist on the nine-minute-long “Like Me.”

“[‘Like Me’] was a really hard one to write down,” Lacy told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe. “I think at the time I wrote that it was around July of 2017, and I think that’s when I started exploring sexuality, and I can only be honest and transparent in my art.”
