Solange’s new album, ‘When I Get Home,’ is out now

The highly anticipated follow-up to 2016’s ‘A Seat at the Table’ has arrived.

When I Get Home, Solange’s long-awaited fourth album, is finally here.

The record, which the singer claims will “make your trunk rattle,” arrived at midnight on Thursday following a slew of teasers released earlier this week. It collects 19 songs, all written, performed and co-produced by Solange herself. Other notable credits on the album include Tyler, the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, Gucci Mane, Cassie and Pharrell. Dev Hynes and Sampha, who appeared on her previous critically acclaimed LP, A Seat at the Table, also contribute.

When I Get Home is bookended by jazz-influenced numbers: the piano-led “Things I Imagined” and “I’m a Witness,” a hypnotic closer featuring Panda Bear. “Almeda,” the album’s centerpiece, however, cranks up the bass. On it, Playboi Carti and Metro Boomin appear as guest vocalist while Pharrell supplies the song’s bouncy beat.
