Snoh Aalegra has returned with a brand-new song, “Dying 4 Your Love,” which dropped alongside a hypnotic visual.
Directed by Izabelle P Wilson, the video pairs futuristic landscapes with Y2K aesthetics and fashion. Aalegra sits alone in a massive glasshouse, watching comets fly by Earth while she contemplates sending her lover one final text before the world ends—on an antique Blackberry, no less. “Tell me how / Are we supposed to still be talkin’ every day / When everything between us just completely changed? / Oh, why?” she wonders.
Shortly after the music video was released, Aalegra thanked all her collaborators on Instagram for making her cosmic vision come to life “despite [the] pandemic and all the millions of restrictions that came with it.”
The Swedish singer also announced an exclusive merch line that was initially supposed to launch for her 2020 tour, which has been postponed due to COVID-19. “Since I have no idea when I’m getting back on the road, I decided to put it all up for sale for you all,” Aalegra wrote, adding that 50 percent of the proceeds will be donated to intersectional social justice organization Until Freedom.
Last year, Aalegra dropped her sophomore album –Ugh, Those Feels Again, which included the tracks “Situationship” and “Find Someone Like You.” In March, she hopped on dvsn’s sultry song, “Between Us,” which appeared on the R&B duo’s A Muse in Her Feelings album.
