SiR has returned with a brand-new single “Hair Down,” featuring Kendrick Lamar.
Produced by Michael Uzowuru, Jeff Kleinman and Mike Hector, the song is focused on wanting to be free and confident. “I was having trouble with myself and just my confidence,” SiR told Genius in a recent interview. “I wrote that for myself, trying to just give myself some motivation. I wanted everybody else to kind of let their hair down. I feel like it did what it was supposed to do and it was definitely therapeutic for me.”
The song was accompanied by a dreamy and surreal video directed by Jack Begert. In it, SiR cruises through the neighborhood in a floating car and plays the role of an art curator. Sadly, K Dot doesn’t make an appearance in the clip.
“Hair Down” marks SiR’s first offering since 2018’s November, and his debut single for RCA Records. It is set to appear on the R&B singer’s upcoming album, Chasing Summer, due out August 30.
