Sen Morimoto gives a tour of Chi Town in “People Watching” video

The jazz rapper’s debut album is a gift that keeps giving.

It’s been a couple of months since the Kyoto-born, Chicago-based rapper dropped his debut LP Cannonball!, but the hype surrounding it hasn’t died out. Instead, it’s gotten a boost today in the form of a video for “People Watching.”

The trippy six-minute clip is directed by Scott Cramer, who’s also worked with the likes of Zach Hill and Will Heaven. Morimoto plays the leading man, strutting down the streets of Chicago while psychedelic visual and aural effects play around him.

It’s a fitting theme to match the young multi-instrumentalist off-center brand of music and meandering flow.
