Raphael Saadiq has dropped “Glory to the Veins,” featuring jazz pianist Ernest Turner.

On the brooding track, the R&B singer delves deep into his brother’s psyche and battle with addiction, according to a press release. “A shortness of breath is really frightening /
I feel myself but I need to feel love / There’s too many people walking behind me / I need you beside me, please come and find me,” Saadiq sings.

“Glory to the Veins” is the second single from Saadiq’s forthcoming album, Jimmy Lee, following last month’s “Something Keeps Calling.” The record arrives August 23 via Columbia Records.
