Look, you’re not the only one having problems in the romance department—even the Love King himself admits he’s faced some trouble in paradise once in a while. Raheem DeVaughn, the self-proclaimed “Love King of R&B,” tells it like it is in his latest single, “Don’t Come Easy.”
The accompanying visual, Directed by Christopher Scholar, features cuts of the R&B veteran and his love interest getting cozy in an apartment and an abandoned warehouse. But they’re not just your typical couple—they’re humans with supernatural powers.
“The inspiration behind the video was to paint a picture of a man/woman’s desire to give unconditional love. The lyrics and the vibe of the song were also direct inspirations. We wanted a grown and sexy feel that can reach [an] adult contemporary [audience] as well as millennials,” DeVaughn told VIBE.
“Don’t Come Easy” is set to appear on his upcoming album, Decade of a Love King.
