NIKI releases “Warpaint” as part of 88rising’s collab album

The R&B starlet recently dropped her debut EP, ‘Zephyr.’

Hip hop collective 88rising are currently gearing up for the release of their collab album that’s due in July. After releasing “Midsummer Madness” and “Let it Go,” which features members Joji, Rich Brian and Higher Brothers, the group are now turning the attention to their lone female star, NIKI.

The Indonesian songbird, who dropped her debut EP Zephyr in May, has shared an Americana, Lana Del Rey-influenced anthem, “Warpaint.” The song hears the singer going on a quest for independence, a theme that recurs quite often on her solo record.

“’Cause every day, I put my warpaint on / I’m a warrior, I find another one / Step aside, I’m moving through / All by myself, I don’t need you,” she sings on the chorus.
