NIKI releases long-awaited debut album, ‘Moonchild’

It arrived alongside a new visual for “Nightcrawlers.”

NIKI has finally released her much-anticipated debut album, Moonchild.

The 88rising singer goes at it on her own throughout the ten-track record, which features no guest artists. In addition, all tracks were written by the Indonesian artist, with the exception of “Lose,” which she co-wrote with English artist Natalia Kills.

The record also features previously released songs such as “Selene” and “Switchblade.” On the production side, NIKI enlisted American songwriter Bēkon, frequent collaborator Jacob Ray and Canadian producer Pomo, among others.

“This is two years of unrelenting work,” NIKI wrote in a statement about the project. “I bent over backwards, almost quit and lost my mind countless times before this album became the body of work it is today.”

Along with Moonchild, NIKI has also shared a new visual for “Nightcrawlers,” which is found on the first of the album’s three sections. The clip features NIKI performing the track in front of a creepy garden, as trippy images of the moon and flowers are superimposed over her.
