NIKI’s highly anticipated debut EP, Zephyr, has finally arrived. Released under 88rising and EMPIRE, the record is chock full of smooth and sultry R&B gems, which includes the pop-infused dance track “Vintage” and slow-burning “Dancing with the Devil.”
The eight-track EP opens with “Newsflash!” an upbeat number about the songstress’ encounter with a player—and it’s got itself the music video treatment, too.
Just like NIKI’s other visuals, this one exudes the same dreamy and retro vibe. The singer-songwriter flaunts a collection of glamorous, bejeweled frocks that’ll make any girl jealous, while laying down the dirt on an untrustworthy ex-lover.
“I never ever take my boys or corduroys secondhand / What kind of world you livin’ in Alice? This ain’t Wonderland / You are not in demand,” she sings as she smears on bright red lipstick while smirking to herself in the mirror.
