Masego delivers a “King’s Rant” on new single

He’s not doing it for fame.

Masego reminds fans that he’s R&B royalty on his new single, “King’s Rant.”

On the groovy song, produced by Jah & Jasper and with additional horns from Grammy-winning jazz trumpeter Maurice Brown, the “Tadow” musician insists he’s not doing music for the fame while name-dropping celebrities such as Kelly Rowland, Kendrick Lamar and Swizz Beatz.

“’Member that one time, Kelly Rowland thought I was Shy Glizzy? / ’Member that one time, Swizz Beatz said he would vibe with me? / ’Member that one time, you shook my hand but never locked eyes with me? / ’Member that one time, K-Dot freestyled on my beat? / I want no fame though,” Masego spits.

“King’s Rant” is Masego’s first single of the year. Last year, the singer dropped a handful of loosies, including “Queen Tings” and “Big Girls.” The Jamaican-born artist’s last full-length album, Lady Lady, arrived in 2018.
