Lolo Zouaï announces ‘Beautiful Lies’ EP with new single

“Alone With You” is the first preview of the upcoming project.

Lolo Zouaï has dropped a new single, “Alone With You,” the first taste of her upcoming EP, Beautiful Lies.

On the song, the French-American singer chooses to be “alone” rather than being in a relationship that’s lost its spark. “Say what you wanna say / Hate me I’ll be okay when you leave / You know you should leave / ’Cause I’d rather be alone / Than be alone with you,” she sings.

Last month, Zouaï dropped off her first track of 2020, “It’s My Fault.” It’s not yet confirmed if that song will also appear on Beautiful Lies.

“The upcoming songs are a little bit slow and moody,” Zouaï revealed to Pop Crave. “The funny part is that I wrote ‘Alone With You’ before quarantine, but the hook is, ‘I’d rather be alone than be alone with you.’ I think it’s really fitting for quarantine, for people who are stuck with themselves and who wouldn’t want to be with anyone else.”

Last year, Zouaï released her debut album, High Highs to Low Lows. The album featured songs such as “Caffeine” and “Summers in Vegas.”

Beautiful Lies is due out sometime next month. In the meantime, listen to “Alone With You” below:
