Listen Mariah Carey’s uplifting theme song for ABC’s ‘Mixed-ish’

“In the Mix” arrived alongside a heartwarming video.

Mariah Carey has released “In the Mix,” an inspiring anthem which will serve as the theme song for ABC’s upcoming sitcom Mixed-ish.

The ’90s throwback track arrived alongside a sweet video of the pop icon in the studio with her children, Moroccan and Monroe. “In the mix, we gonna get by / On our own, side by side / Love’s all we need to be free / I got you, you got me,” Carey sings on the chorus. The clip also features scenes of the show’s cast lip-syncing and dancing along to the track.

Mixed-ish is a spin-off and prequel to the ABC series Black-ish, and will follow protagonist Rainbow Johnson growing up in the ’80s in a mixed-race family. “As a biracial woman in the entertainment industry, there was no way I did not want to be a part of Mixed-ish, Carey told Vulture. “I could not be more honored and proud to be writing and performing ‘In the Mix’ for [series creator Kenya Barris] and the show.”
