Kilo Kish and her animal friends explore Tokyo in “Elegance” video

This is the first single from her upcoming EP, ‘Mothe.’

A ballerina and three animal mascots on a night out in Tokyo—so goes Kilo Kish’s charming video for her new single, “Elegance,” from her upcoming EP Mothe.

The alluring “Elegance” is Kish’s step away from the eccentricism of her 2016 album, Reflections in Real Time, towards the atmospheric: The track could easily co-exist with Jamie xx solo cuts on a lonely, hazy dancefloor.

But the artist’s penchant for the weird still remains front and center on the video, which stars Kish—real name Lakisha Robinson—in a ballerina’s tutu partying through Tokyo with three animal-suited friends.

“Elegance” is our first glimpse of Mothe, Kish’s EP due September 7. Mothe explores “the intersection of nature and the electricity found in all things” and was inspired by trip-hop and “late ’90s and early 2000s video games and the soundtracks to those,” as she told PAPER Magazine.
