Joji teams up with Diplo on new song, “Daylight”

Another taste of ‘Nectar.’

Joji has enlisted Diplo on a brand-new song, “Daylight.”

The song features a disheartened Joji trying to get over a fresh break-up. Over Diplo’s smooth and hazy production, the 88rising singer croons about feeling helpless and lost. “Bad luck, I don’t wanna be home at midnight / Sun’s up, I don’t really wanna fight the daylight / I don’t care if you moved on / I’m not laying in bed with a fucked up head,” he laments.

The moody track was paired with a surprisingly vibrant video directed by Munachi Osegbu, who previously worked on Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hot Girl Summer” visual. In the clip, Joji and Diplo play a pair of inept and jealous PAs working on the set of a music video shoot for an obnoxious ’90s boyband. In attempts to annoy the divas, the duo do everything they can to disrupt the filming process, including drinking on set, destroying the props and stealing their wardrobe.

“Daylight” is the latest track from Joji’s upcoming album Nectar, due out September 25. He’d previously released the LP singles “Sanctuary,” “Run” and “Gimme Love.”
