JMSN drops new song, announces upcoming album

The Detroit singer’s new album is called ‘Velvet.’

Alt-R&B act JMSN took to Twitter earlier this week to reveal exciting news. The singer is set to drop Velvet, the follow-up to his 2017 album Whatever Makes You Happy—in September.

To mark the occasion, he also released “Talk is Cheap,” the first single off the project. It’s a hypnotizing, bass-heavy R&B track with plenty of neo-soul influences from the ’90s. The song opens with a dramatic choral and hears JMSN showing off his slinky falsetto as he sings about sticking to the ‘real ones.’

“Talk is cheap / You got to show me it’s real / ’Cause I ain’t got time to waste, no,” he croons on the chorus, proving that the singer’s got no time to deal with tryhards and wannabes.
