Fresh off the heels of her debut album, Before Love Came to Kill Us, Jessie Reyez has released a dramatic visual for the album cut, “Same Side.”
In the clip, Reyez hires a kidnapper to nab her toxic lover, whom she plans to kill. But the singer can’t bring herself to finish the job. Instead, she shows him forgiveness and lowers her weapon—which turns out to be a poor choice. The video was directed by Peter Huang, who helmed Reyez’s visuals for “Crazy” and “Far Away.”
Reyez’s Before Love Came to Kill Us album arrived in March, and has since been expanded with a deluxe edition. The expanded LP features appearances from Eminem, 6LACK, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Rico Nasty and more.
