Jazmine Sullivan has released her much-anticipated fourth studio album, Heaux Tales.
The 14track record arrives six years after her last full-length effort, the critically acclaimed Reality Show. For the new LP, Sullivan enlisted a number of fellow R&B singers, including Ari Lennox and Anderson .Paak.
It also features a collaboration with HER titled “Girl Like Me,” which closes the record. On the guitar-driven track, the duo sing about their break-up woes and get real about the insecurities brought on by the end of a relationship. “Knew it was real when you blocked me / Now I sit at home judgin’ my body / Wondering what I did to lose you / Why in the hell you ain’t choose me?” Sullivan croons.
“Maybe I should look like a stripper / Wearin’ Fashion Nova dresses / All these dudes be so pressed and impressed with it / You leave me with no choice / I can’t do this good girl shit no more,” HER sings.
Heaux Tales also includes the previously released “Pick Up Your Feelings” and “Lost One.” Prior to the album, Sullivan contributed to Pentatonix’s cover of “Joyful, Joyful” and teamed up with PJ Morton on “Built for Love.”
