Hear “The Cycle” by Shay Lia

Another great single from the R&B up-and-comer.

You probably know Shay Lia from her collaborations with Kaytranada (“Leave Me Alone,” “Blue”) but she’s very much her own artist. Her new track, “The Cycle,” has just dropped, but it already bodes great things to come.

Singing in her seductive lower register over Sango’s moody production, the French-Djiboutian artist charts the titular, predictable cycle of break-ups. “You know what to do since you think you know best,” she croons. “Don’t hit my line when you feeling lonely, baby.”

Lia has only put out singles so far—here’s hoping she has a longer project in the works. Stream “The Cycle” below:
