Hear Aloe Blacc, JID perform ‘Songland’ composition “Getting Started”

The latest release from NBC’s songwriting competition show.

Aloe Blacc and rapper JID have linked up on the new song “Getting Started,” which is set to appear on the soundtrack of Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.

Originally written by contestant Kyle Williams for the sixth episode of NBC’s songwriting competition series Songland, the track was selected by Blacc and Hobbs & Shaw director David Leitch as the winning entry.

“Getting Started” is a motivational, hip hop-inspired pop track that would soundtrack an action flick nicely—a sentiment echoed by Blacc himself. “This is one of those songs that can motivate you to get started,” he explained in the episode. “This is a great collaboration. This is the first time I’ve worked with and discovered a songwriter in this way,” he added.
