Cautious Clay drops new EP, shares latest single “Crowned”

The record drops just months after his debut EP, ‘Blood Type.’

Joshua Karpeh, better known as Cautious Clay, is on a roll. After dropping his debut EP Blood Type in February, the rising R&B crooner has returned with a new record, RESONANCE—and he’s just shared the first single, “Crowned.”

Written and produced by Karpeh, the song is the perfect laid-back jam for those late summer night drives. “Got me thinking up ways to pray for my vanity / But you crown / Ya crown with the likes of us,” he sings on the chorus over a bouncy beat.

“‘Crowned’ is about tackling the absurdities of how people obsess over material possessions or statuses that ultimately don’t matter, and how they are often willing to compromise their values for that,” he told Hypebeast.

Karpeh’s currently producing another EP and is working on joint projects with Hudson Mohawke and John Mayer, both due to arrive sometime later this year. So make sure to keep your eyes peeled for this promising singer-songwriter.
