Brent Faiyaz drops new song, “Dead Man Walking”

The follow-up to his February EP ‘Fuck the World.’

Brent Faiyaz has dropped a new song, “Dead Man Walking.”

The Maryland artist co-produced the track, which is the follow-up to Faiyaz’s February EP Fuck the World, with Jordan Ware, Dpat and Lil Rece.

Faiyaz croons over a striking instrumental that vibrates with high-wire strings and tasteful guitar noodling. “This that ‘Roll myself a J and count my figure’ shit / This that ‘Steppin’ out, I feel like I’m that n***a’ shit,’” he sings, “I dropped thirty on this room, we ain’t gon’ sleep for shit / If I catch you nodding off, then it’s gon’ be some shit.”

It’s unclear if “Dead Man Walking” hints that a new Faiyaz project is on the way. His previous release Fuck the World featured the tracks “Fuck the World (Summer in London)” and “Rehab (Winter in Paris).”
