Blood Orange—aka Dev Hynes—has released an opulent video for “Benzo,” a cut from his brand-new Angel’s Pulse mixtape.

In the self-directed clip, the singer turns the imagery of 18th century European aristocracy on its head. The Rococo-inspired visual features Hynes as a musician who is summoned to perform for an all-black French royal court, complete with powdered wigs and lavish dresses. The video also stars Jorge “Gitoo” Wright and Ian Isiah.

Hynes’ Angel’s Pulse mixtape dropped last Friday. It’s the follow-up to his 2018 Negro Swan LP, which featured tracks like “Saint” and “Dagenham Dream.”
