Blood Orange puts out music video for “Saint”

It’s the tender second track on his celebrated new album, ‘Negro Swan.’

Blood Orange—real name Dev Hynes—has released a third music video from his acclaimed new album, Negro Swan, this time for “Saint.”

Directed by Hynes himself, the music video for the tender “Saint” is simple and heartwarming: friends hang out with the crooner, reclining, chatting and eating pizza as he performs the track in his Manhattan studio.

Keen-eyed viewers will notice a few familiar faces in the room: the actress Indya Moore of the television series Pose, and Kai the Black Angel, who starred in Hynes’ video for “Jewelry” and also in the cover art of Negro Swan.

Released August 24, Negro Swan is Hynes’ fourth album as Blood Orange. It’s been praised for its sensitive, unflinching exploration of what the singer terms “black depression,” but with undercurrents of hope and what the musician refers to as “the lights we can try to turn on within ourselves with a hopefully positive outcome of helping others out of their darkness.”
