Baby Rose recently brought a hypnotizing medley of songs from To Myself—her 2019 debut album—to NPR’s Tiny Desk series.
The powerhouse vocalist opened her set with a touching version of the album’s opening song, “Sold Out.” She then paused to chat with the audience: “I am grateful to be able to share some of my experiences through music.”
“And I will say I would not be able to write such things, with such emotion, without my fair share of regrets,” she added, before segueing into a pained rendition of “Ragrets,” backed by a seven-piece band.
During her long (by Tiny Desk standards) five-song set, the Atlanta artist also performed “Over,” “Mortal” and “All To Myself.” At the end of her chilling set, her father, who was in the audience, could be heard shouting out, “That’s my daughter!”
