Alicia Keys wants to know if you can “Raise a Man”

It’s her first new song in over two years.

Alicia Keys reinvigorated the 2019 Grammy Awards with her earnest hosting style and energetic performance, and now the 15-time Grammy-winner is back to show how real pros do it with “Raise a Man.”

Soulful, heartfelt and poignant, the six-minute-long piano-led track is an ode to her husband, producer Swizz Beatz. “Your love teaches me how to love / So deep, baby, it’s so sweet / Can’t wait to pass you down / To the face that resembles you and me,” she sings. The song’s black-and-white cover art features the couple’s two children, Egypt and Genesis.

Keys last released fresh material almost three years ago in the form of her sixth studio album Here. During Sunday night’s ceremony, she also performed a medley of songs she wished she had written, including Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” and Drake’s “In My Feelings.”
