Alicia Keys, Khalid sing at prom in “So Done” video

Listen to their ode to independence here.

Alicia Keys and Khalid have joined forces for a smooth new track called “So Done.”

The collaboration, produced by Ludwig Göransson, is an ode to doing things your own way and features hypnotic vocals from the pair. “’Cause I’m so, so done / Guardin’ my tongue, holdin’ me back / I’m livin’ the way that I want,” Keys sings on the chorus.

The video features the two crooners as guest performers at a high school prom. It follows a student, played by Sasha Lane, who feels out of place. Suddenly, a group of young bikers rip through the building, doing wheelies on the dancefloor and speeding across tables. While the rest of the students watch the scene with their phones out, Lane embraces her own uniqueness and decides to join them.

“So Done” is expected to arrive on Keys’ upcoming album, ALICIA, alongside “Good Job” and “Underdog.” The record was supposed to be released in May, but was postponed to later in the year due to the coronavirus pandemic. A specific release date has yet to be announced.
