6LACK wants to “Switch” lives in new song

The song is set to appear on the rapper’s forthcoming album.

As we countdown to the release of 6LACK’s sophomore album, the rapper has just dropped the video for his latest song “Switch,” a moody, mid-tempo R&B jam.

The dark-hued clip, directed by Rohan Blair-Mangat, pretty much illustrates the rapper’s current reflective state. It opens with a tragic accident—the “PRBLMS” rapper lies on the road beside his crushed motorcycle. But instead of paramedics, it’s the media that rushes towards him to take photos of his unconscious body.

“Ain’t nobody gotta go through what I’m going through, no / But it seems like they all know what I’m supposed to do so,” he sings as the paparazzi continue flashing their cameras at him. The video jumps back and forth between scenes of 6LACK and grainy home videos of the Atlanta native during happier times. The cuts feature him hanging out with friends, performing on stage, and spending time with his one-year-old daughter.
