Yukika unveils retro-inspired debut album, ‘Soul Lady’

The title track’s video is a sequel to her “Neon” MV.

K-pop singer Yukika has released her debut album, Soul Lady.

On the 12-track LP, the Japanese-born artist draws from the sound and aesthetic of ’80s city pop, with the help of production company MonoTree. The record features previously released songs such as “Yesterday” and “Cherries Jubiles,” as well as a “1989” version of her debut single “Neon.”

The music video for title track “Soul Lady” overlays scenes of the singer performing with nighttime shots of Seoul. The visual also includes a callback to the visual of “Neon,” with the appearance of a phone booth that was featured prominently in that clip.
